Bald Eagles Nesting
A pair of Bald Eagles nested just off of Tri-Cities Beach Road in Baytown in 2010. The nest was about 170 yards from the road where these photographs were taken. The first set of photos were taken on Jan 21st when the female was apparently laying eggs. The second set of photos were taken on Feb 24th. At this time there didn't appear to be any chicks in the nest yet. The third set of photos was taken on March 22, 2010. This time there were two fuzzy chicks clearly visible in the nest. I was lucky to arrive on March 28th to find the female perched on a tree branch about 30 yards from the road with a dozen photographers with big lens shooting away at point blank range. She stayed perched on this branch for more than 20 minutes before returning to the nest to feed the two chicks.
