Russia River Cruise
We took a Viking Riverboat Cruise in Russia in July 2012. We started in St. Petersburg and ended in Moscow. We spent 3 days each in St. Petersburg and Moscow and 6 day cruising the rivers, lakes and canals between the two cities with stops each day along the way for shore excursions. We cruised on the Neva River, Lake Ladoga, Svir River, Lake Onega, Volga Baltic Canal, Kovzha River, White Lake, Sheksna River, Lake of Rybinsk, Volga River, and the Moscow Canal. We passed through 18 locks and gained 510 feet elevation during the passage. The first half of the journey was pretty far north and is largely forest with a very sparse population. Civilization begins to be more apparent once we reached the Volga River. Here are my photographs from the tour. Hope you enjoy them. Dwayne
